Preparing for the Staatsexamen NT2
Language courses
A language course can be an enjoyable way to work towards B1 level (for Programme I) or B2 level (for Programme II) with tutor support. It does not matter what level you are at now. There are courses that offer extensive language training over a longer period, but also courses that prepare you for the Staatsexamen NT2 in just a few lessons. In every province in the Netherlands, there are language schools that offer these types of courses. At most language schools, you can take both group and individual lessons. The cost of a language course varies greatly: what you pay depends on the school, the type of course and the duration of the course. The website StaatsexamensNT2.nl lists all language schools that offer a course for the Staatsexamen NT2 (Programme I and/or II).

Teaching materials
When you take a language course, you usually use the teaching method chosen by the language school. But if you want to study on your own, you can choose from many different teaching materials. It is sometimes difficult to choose a teaching method from the large selection. That is why we describe a number of situations below and give advice on the teaching materials best suited to them.
Are you going to learn Dutch independently, without going to school?
The Delftse methode series is best suited for independent study and contains textbooks for all language levels. The Delftse methode not only prepares you well for the Staatsexamen NT2, but above all teaches you to use Dutch in a practical way. The focus of this method is on learning to speak and understand.
Would you like to study in a group, for example with a friend?
If you want to learn Dutch in a group, for example with friends, the methods in the NT2 op maat series are very suitable. These methods have been specially developed in preparation for the NT2 Staatsexamen.
