Hotel Hallo - Tekstboek is a richly illustrated paperback full of exciting stories and happy songs that children love. The lessons centre around Max and Mia, two curious nine-year-olds who have all kinds of fun adventures together with their parrot and the loony guests at Hotel Hallo. The book is divided into ten theme-based lessons, including ‘Op reis’ (‘On a trip’) and ‘Ik heb een vraag’ (‘I have a question’), that can be covered in no particular order. The different types of teaching material have a motivational effect on children: they get to read comic strips, listen to radio shows, open a storytelling chest, sing songs, put on plays and a whole lot of other games. Each theme comes with a vocabulary list, together with a number of frequent speech acts.
