Within Ster in lezen, non-Dutch speaking students develop their literacy level through understanding what is being said in a specific text. Bem, Milka, Mo, Rada, and Tuu bring the students along with them throughout the course of the book. Together with peers, ISK students develop better reading skills in Dutch. New words are learned with every text and students work with the text by answering the text-based comprehension questions.

Target group
Ster in lezen is specially developed for non-native speakers between ages 12-18 who are at the beginning of learning and comprehending texts in Dutch.
ISK students work with relatable texts in an engaging way. These texts are short, guided by clear illustrations and conceptual questions that help the students develop their reading skills step by step.
