KlasNL is a refreshing new learning course for non-native speakers who want to learn Dutch at a leisurely pace. This first part prepares them to achieve language level A1.
Twelve lessons cover recognisable topics and situations, such as shopping, buying clothes and thinking about your future. KlasNL offers a wide variety of text types that learners may encounter in everyday life, such as e-mails, phone calls and registration forms. Language acts are always the starting point. Learners learn to put forward their own message. They do this in different and partly activating work forms.
Lessons are structured through the ABCD model. There is also a strong focus on repetition and practice-based learning. The latter occurs both in and outside the lessons, in the form of assignments that encourage course participants to apply what they have learned in daily life. In this way, the course is also in line with the new integration policy.
On the accompanying website, learners will find study guides, audios, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation exercises, and glossaries with translations in Arabic, Tigrinya, English, French, Spanish, Farsi, Turkish and Russian. Teachers can request teacher guides, study guides, copy sheets and tests.
The KlasNL method consists of a course book and a word trainer. KlasNL Word Trainer contains the vocabulary exercises and word lists that students can use to work on their productive vocabulary knowledge. In this way, they learn 1,000 of the most frequent and relevant words.
This book is written for non-native speakers who want to learn Dutch at a leisurely pace. These may be low-educated, but also middle-educated non-native speakers.
