If you work with LINK or LINK+, you may have already noticed that a nice update has gone live in the message box. We have collected feedback and used it to make a number of improvements. Read on to find out what has been improved.
If you open LINK or LINK+ and go to the message module, you will see that you can search and filter more extensively through your messages. You may also have already found the emoji picker. To inform you of all the improvements, some of which are more obvious than others, here is a list:
Performance
To speed up the performance of the messaging functionality, the way messages are stored in the database and the administration around this (such as whether a message has been read or archived) has been improved.
Search function
The search functionality has been expanded in the various inboxes of the message box. You can now...
- search within the full text of all messages.
- search for a student by selecting them from the list. (Only available to the teacher.)
- filter for assignments that have not yet been assessed.
You can also...
- give feedback in more ways with the emoji picker.
- give your feedback with more text and background colors.
That's not all!
- Students can now save writing assignments and finish them later.
- Messages about an assignment will have a button to go directly to the assignment in question.
- In the 'sent' inbox, the recipient will be displayed instead of the sender.
- When closing a message, the user returns to the same overview page from which the message was opened, with the same search and pagination settings applied.
- When responding to a message, the user will see a 'send and archive' button in addition to the 'send' button. This button will place the message directly in the archive.
- The pagination will be adjusted with the option to navigate directly to the first and last pages.
